Internal Body Signals (Interoception) (Hypersensitive)

 

  • May always feel hungry.

  • May always feel thirsty.

  • May always feel full.

  • May always feel like they need to use the toilet.

  • Distracted by any slight change in heat.

  • The slightest pain may be extremely painful.

 

Support

 

  • Mindfulness.

  • Yoga.

  • Vestibular input.

  • Proprioceptive input.

  • Heavy Work activities.

  • Use visual schedules for when to eat, drink, use the toilet.

  • Small healthy snacks throughout the day.

  • Regular toilet breaks.

  • Regular drinks throughout the day.

  • May not feel hunger.

  • May not feel full.

  • May not feel like they need to use the toilet.

  • May not feel hot/cold.

  • May not feel pain.

  • Proprioceptive input.

  • Heavy Work activities.

  • Use visual schedules for when to eat, drink, use the toilet.

  • Small healthy snacks throughout the day.

  • Regular toilet breaks.

  • Regular drinks throughout the day.

  • Watch for signs of overheating and encourage weather appropriate clothes when needed.
