1k for £1k Update

In April and May 2019, to mark Autism Awareness Month, we invited local schools to take part in a sponsored 1k for £1k walk, with the aim of fundraising £1000 between them by getting the children to walk 1000 metres.

Every penny each school raised was kept by them to be used on autism resources of the school's choice.  Two schools took part - Haverigg and St James'.  All the children taking part were also encouraged to dress in bright rainbow colours on the day.

Haverigg raised an amazing £923 and St James' a fantastic £1,106.  A magnificent achievement for both schools, raising not only much needed funds but also autism awareness amongst all the students and their families!

Every child taking part was awarded a certificate for their efforts.  Well done everyone!
